Some great pictures from my recent trip to Wentworth, showing the pavilion, scoreboard and main entrance. Less than 3 weeks to The Open... Oh, did I tell you I was going as part of the support team, please don't tell anymore radio or TV stations...Ha....I'm really looking forward to it, what a massive privilege. I'll be staying at Liverpool University as part of the British and International Greenkeepers association team. I get a Uniform of course, but I've just read I'm not allowed to get my cap autographed....there goes Plan A outta the window.... Apparently I've got a 52-1 chance of being in Bubba's team so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Each team consists of the players, their caddies, referee, scorer, scoreboard carrier and a green keeper. The bunkers at Wentworth were like a work of art .....after all the safety talk on the blog ...I only managed to fall in the one ....whoops !!
I watched Miguel Angel Jimenez in practice....what a cool dude. There's also a picture of Gary Neville who was playing in the Celebrity Pro Am. These Needle tines provide the smallest footprint (of any tines) while creating an environment for efficient gas exchange and water infiltration. These narrow tines are the ideal selection for turf requiring frequent aeration, especially during the warmer months. Solid tine aeration opens the soil without removing a core. It’s an effective way to increase gas exchange and drainage at the root zone during periods of high temperature, since it is less stressful to the turf than core aeration. Benefits of solid-tine aerating
If the Red Arrows got needle tine machines out .....this is what it would look like We will be spraying in the next couple of days to treat Fusarium Patch, the strong tine holes will come in great use to maximise full potential of the fungicide. Ok who sung ...Angel Eyes, Goodnight Girl and Love Is All Around ? WET WET WET
Ian Winter from BBC Midlands Today visited Redditch Golf Club on Tuesday and met up with Phil Thornton our head greenskeeper and Angela Taylor the ladies captain. What a proper nice bloke.. Man versus Melon Anytime a long-drive world champion hits a golf ball into a semi-soft object, the golf ball will most likely do some damage. This instance was no different. Check out the YouTube link......... Standing at 6-foot-4, 2010 Long-Drive World Champion Joe Miller took on a watermelon with his 153 mph swing, teeing up the fruit just a few feet in front of his ball. The results were exactly what you’d expect: Too Much too soon, come back in june Whats New Sky Sports Golf News - Now updated daily on The Shed page Whats New ESPN Sport News updated daily on The Shed page Whats New 38 New Videos taken off the BBC rss feed down the right hand side of this page Whats New Did you know that if you go to the weather page on a Mac or Pc you can change the music to suit the weather...unfortunately you can't change the weather to suit the music !! |
